Jeannette’s Newborn Photos, Family Photography

Jeannette Newborn Photography Dana Point 574

It’s always amazing to see friends you’ve known for forever become parents. Brittany and I have known each other since we were seven years old and little Brownie Girl Scouts! She met the love of her life just after Andy and I got married in 2007… and if you have been following my blog for a few years now, I took their engagement photos and posted about Brittany’s wedding and just recently, her “Bebe Soiree,” French themed baby shower.

And now, here is their little bundle of joy, their princess, Jeannette Marie! She was so itty bitty during her newborn photoshoot at only 6 days old. What a little love. I miss her so!

Hope you enjoy some of these darling photos of the little miss!

Unique Gift Idea for the Bride: Bridal Beauty Scrapbook of all the Wedding Events, Bridal Showers and Parties

bridal scrapbook 0692

Creating a scrapbook of all the bridal events for the year is a great keepsake and gift for a bride!

A couple years ago, I started up a scrapbook whirlwind by making 2 books for my girlfriends that were getting married in 2012. I started way too late into the year though and didn’t have nearly the arsenal of scrapbook tools that I do now! So for Amie’s book, from this past year’s wedding celebrations, ended up being triple layered in stickers and all sorts of embellishments! Plus I started it right away and did one page/event at a time—which allowed for my creative juices to really flow through each page.

So I just wanted to share a few of my favorite pages from these books and at the end of the post there are some tips if you find yourself making one for yourself or for a friend!

For another gift idea, see my post on a scrapbook of letters for the bride!

First up, Lauren’s scrapbook:

laurens bridal scrapbook 0688

This was my first ever scrapped page… I remember being so excited working on it with my mama at her kitchen table.

laurens bridal scrapbook 0650 laurens bridal scrapbook 0668 laurens bridal scrapbook 0671

I’m pretty sure we blew Instagram up on the day of their wedding! So we definitely needed to have a #wagonerwedding page—which also included a wood engraved sunflower from their wedding favors.

laurens bridal scrapbook 0677 laurens bridal scrapbook 0679

My absolute favorite page in Lauren’s book was their wedding day page. I just love the pictures she chose—by All Aboard Studios.

And here’s a few of my favorite pages from Brittany’s book:

britts bridal scrapbook 0946

Their engagement party was Anchorman themed so we chose some of our favorite Anchorman quotes for the page.

britts bridal scrapbook 0929 britts bridal scrapbook 0931

My mom and I had fun making the pages for our Fairy Weekend… that was such a great weekend! We included the fairy house, fabric from the sparkly purple tablecloth and a mini paper scroll to remember our moments reading our bride our favorite memories with her.

britts bridal scrapbook 0934

I love the details on the shower page too… since we had a panty line and lavender sachets, the book had to have them too! More photos here.

britts bridal scrapbook 0936 britts bridal scrapbook 0940

And just like Lauren’s, my favorite page in Britt’s book is of the wedding. It was such a beautiful day. They had moss covered table numbers so I found some green glittery numbers for the wedding date and also included a key from their favors! So much fun remembering the day through the details.

And now a TON of photos from Amie’s… I had a really hard time narrowing down my favorites…

bridal scrapbook 0691

Starting with page 1, I loved that I had found a bench sticker to remember where Matt had waited for his soon to be fiance!

And we included lace from the mason jar decorations at the engagement party!

Bridal shower photos below are from J. Rose Photography.

With the shower being as detailed as it was, I tried to incorporate as much as I could… from the cupcake topper to the paper flowers on the favor boxes.

Photos below are by me! See more from our engagement session here.

The bachelorette party was also filled with details! We saved a business card from our crazy scavenger hunt in Pacific Beach along with some kisses from “Pin the Kiss on the Groom” game. And of course a giant ring sticker to remember our light up rings when we went out dancing—just wish I could find a pink ring for the book!

bridal scrapbook 0773 bridal scrapbook 0776

Hashtag: #pankratzwedding! I loved having an Instagram themed page in Lauren’s book so we had to have one here too! And I love my new banner punch I got in my stocking at Christmas! I was really excited to use it in the book!

bridal scrapbook 0779 bridal scrapbook 0780

And then the wedding… Amie had a very hard time narrowing down photos and since I knew my scrapbooking adventure was coming to a close, we decided just to include the whole wedding! See more photos of the glorious day here.

bridal scrapbook 0798 bridal scrapbook 0796

This is one of my favorite pages! It was such a sweet moment!

bridal scrapbook 0801 bridal scrapbook 0806 bridal scrapbook 0808

There were just a few name card tags leftover from the wedding… it made a great touch for the reception page.

And with one odd page left, we ended the book with a page remembering their honeymoon in Zion.

bridal scrapbook 0831

And now a few tips on making your own Bridal Beauty Scrapbook!

  • It helped that I took the majority of the photos with my camera so I had access to all the high quality images right away.
  • During the event remember to grab an item or 2 to use in the books: business cards, tissue paper, etc.
  • Remember the details that aren’t photographed and use as details in the book. For example, during the bride’s family portraits, a butterfly landed amid the girls’ bouquets so I made sure to get some butterfly stickers. Also, the bouquets were made with purple hydrangeas so I made sure to get those stickers for the wedding pages too.
  • Have the bride pick out the photos. I loved asking the brides to pick their photos because they chose totally different pictures than I would have—it makes the book that much more special because its their favorite memories of the events.
  • To save money, try to get sticker packs that will last through several different events so you aren’t buying a set of embellishments for just one single page. I have a pretty solid aesthetic across all the pages so it was easy to mix and match sets of stickers and paper.
  • Another money saving tip… I waited until the big paper pads went on sale at Michael’s so I got Buy 1, Get 1 Free! And to make them last, I bought one in warm tones and one in cool colors that would look good together to get a good variety but also keep a cohesive look.

A few more notes about the books… all of them are 8×8, a perfect size for a coffee table book. Brittany’s was bought at Michael’s while Lauren’s and Amie’s were bought at Hobby Lobby. All photos were printed at Sam’s Club.

Are you a scrapbooker? I just love it! Please share your tips below!

P.S. Dear Mom, I can’t say I’m sorry enough that I made fun of you for years for all the money and time spent on scrapbooking as I am growing closer and closer to having quite the paper crafting hoard myself. Please accept my apology. xoxo

The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (October & November)

Well the weddings have come and gone as the babies have just grown and grown and grown… and somehow throw in a couple BBQ competitions all in 6 weeks time—oh and a week of those six was spent in Washington! And Hello Thanksgiving!

Babies!

Jameson

I just love this little guy! I’ve loved every stage of his life but it just keeps getting better and better, more fun and more fun for this Auntie! I mean, look at that face! 🙂 Plus this past weekend we took some Christmas portraits of the Baker family, excited to post those next month!

Owen!!

These last two months have definitely held lots of Owen moments. You know those babies that you just want to kiss them all over, well Owen’s little chubs just bring out all the kisses, from everyone not just this crazy auntie! While the guys were out celebrating Kellen’s bachelor party, Lauren and I got to watch the boys and I was just so excited to get that opportunity! I even got Owen to sleep, once, after 90 minutes of rocking. And Owen made it to his first BBQ competition! Now that was fun!

Grayson!!

Last time, I said that Grayson still seemed so little and he still does! But I think it’s just because he’s the youngest of the bunch! This boy, oh let me tell you, well his mommy said it best, if you ever get the chance to meet Grayson:

He would probably smile at you with his eyes.
I think you would fall in love with him immediately.

And it’s totally true! This little guy’s grin is just priceless! On another note, Grayson was dedicated at our church last month, the service brought tears to my eyes just remembering the trials the Williams’ family had to endure to finally be blessed by this baby. A reminder that life is a gift, and truly a miracle.

And I can not forget to show you the adorable best friends all dressed up in their Halloween costumes!! You may have seen this already as my Photo of the Day but I just had to share it again!

Brides

As these two girls became the Mrs. to their Misters, we danced the nights away, rejoicing over their new lives together as one….

Lauren

Lauren’s wedding was so so much fun! We danced and danced and danced, but only after the sweetest ceremony! Of course, the groom had to be blocking my view of my own husband during the ceremony, but I guess it really was about the Wagoners anyway! Since the wedding, we’ve already had quite a few nights over at their new home, watching The Walking Dead and sharing dinners <– not at the same time of course, who can eat while watching that show anyway?!

#wagonerwedding

Brittany

We started the month of October with Brittany’s bachelorette party held in downtown San Diego. Lunch at Seaport Village followed by a night out in the Gaslamp District.

And then four weeks later, we all gathered together again to celebrate Mr. & Mrs. Totah, a beautiful and FABULOUS wedding in San Clemente! So so happy for Brittany!

BBQ

Thankfully, there were just two competitions these past couple months, one in Southern California and the other in Laughlin, Nevada.

Santa Anita

Laughlin

After not getting the best of scores at the Santa Anita competition, Rooftop placed 8th overall at the Nevada State Championships with three walks (chicken, pork, and brisket). This was such a fun weekend as us girls didn’t have to sample out food but just hang out and play cards. A wonderful and relaxing break after the craziness of the last couple months.

See my post from January/February, March, April & May, June & July, and August & September.

The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (August & September)

This is the last post before the October and November weddings, eeeek!!!!

Babies!

Jameson

Jameson totally crashed Brittany’s first bridal shower but it’s okay, we got to have a little photo shoot with him on the grass. Oh and then he came to our annual hotluck (his mama Courtney was pregnant with him at last years!). And I got to feed him his dinner and oh my was that so fun! He just loves to eat, it was cracking me up! Plus my grandpa asked to hold him and Jmo was so entranced by his glasses, so so cute! He really just keeps getting cuter and cuter and just has the best personality!

Owen!!

Oh this baby…. he just fills our hearts with joy at each and every glance when he gives you this big gummy grin! 🙂

Grayson!!

Little Grayson still seems so so little. Planning Lauren’s bridal shower gave me lots of opportunities to snuggle and cuddle this little fella. Can’t help that my heart just keeps growing and growing while loving these little men!

Brides

The last two months was filled with 5 bridal showers, one wedding invitation designed and mailed out to 150 families, and then one bachelorette party! whoop whoop!

Lauren

During Labor Day weekend, Lauren, my mom, and I got all the invites assembled and ready to send out while we were in Mesquite for a BBQ competition! Let me just say, I love love love how they came out! I’ll post more about them in a few weeks but here’s a sneak peek of their RSVP postcard, photo by me.

Lauren’s first shower was for her family at her aunt’s house with a gorgeous view of Lake Elsinore!

Her other shower was thrown by me and her bridesmaids with the theme of “picnic in Central Park.” It was such a great shower, I’ll be posting fully about it next week.

Then this past weekend we had her bachelorette party in Palm Springs with a picnic on the way in Idyllwild.

Brittany

This beautiful bride to be had three showers, the first of which was hosted by her maid of honor and sister Torrie, with some help from me. Check out the full post.

Then her godmother Cindy threw a shower for her family.

And finally, just this past weekend, her aunts threw a couples shower so Eric got to share the joy of a bridal (groom) shower!

BBQ

I almost felt like we’ve had a break from BBQ but really I just haven’t been able to go to most of them but I was at Westminster and at Mesquite until I had to leave early for Brittany’s second shower. Click on the photos to link to the Rooftop site for results, I know you’re all curious! 🙂

Westminster

Mesquite

So jealous I could not be there for the Colorado competition!

Brittany’s Lavender and Lace Bridal Shower

Brittany’s maid of honor, and sister, Torrie—with a little help from me and our moms—hosted the most beautiful bridal shower. Every small detail was attended to.

One item I was able to really help with was the invitations. As soon as Torrie thought up the theme, “Lavender and Lace,” I had the vision of an etched illustration of a small bouquet of lavender tied together with lace. I enlisted my good friend Rachel to illustrate my idea for me and it came out so perfect, exactly what I pictured! Rachel, thank you thank you thank you!

And of course, the centerpieces incorporated white lace and a variety of white flowers, set in mason jars. All designed by Torrie.

You couldn’t have asked for a better reaction from the bride!

Each guest received a lavender sachet for their panty drawer too, the perfect favor for a lingerie shower!

Torrie and I each made a dessert, white chocolate cake pops and cupcakes made with Prosecco.

Amazing job, Torrie! Thanks for allowing me to help your vision come to life!

And of course, a big thanks to our moms/Tutu aunties who made sure Torrie, the mother of the bride, and myself could sit back and enjoy the shower—making sure everything ran flawlessly without us.

The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (June & July)

This is a lighter post of the series but it’s truly the calm before the super fun storm coming up!

Babies!

Jameson

Little Jameson has been growing and growing and growing. It’s been almost two months since I have seen him but when I did get in a visit he got to show me all his new tricks like eating baby food from a spoon and bouncing in his bouncer. Oh I miss him, Mama Courtney!!!

Owen!!

Baby Owen has been chunking up before our very eyes. All I want to do is kiss those cheeks!! I am so thankful for how much time we spend with the Chapins and their boys. Owen and I got to spend a few special “first time with Sam” moments together all in one night, I got to feed, burp, and put him to sleep, and then he peed and spit up all over me! It’s love for sure!

Grayson!!

Oh and this baby. He’s still the smallest of course but there’s evidence of a second chin coming in! Not only did I get the chance to feed him too, we even got to have a slumber party with all the cuddling I wanted! Plus Jessica and I worked on his birth announcements and their family photos! Yay yay yay!

Brides

Things are coming together for the brides. A lot of the big stuff has been taken care of and the details are working themselves out.

I finally (!!) ordered my bridesmaid dress for Lauren’s wedding, it’s going to be in peacock and I just love it! It’s definitely a dress that I can wear again and again. And the wedding invitation design process has begun! Whoo!

So remember Brittany’s bridesmaid dress I mentioned last time, well we ended up with a completely different dress from a totally different store, The Dresser, in Fullerton! And no more purple, it’s all about taupe.

Plus, our dresses do this…. 🙂

Our first bride and bridesmaid celebration for Brittany just happened too, in the Sierras just two weekends ago! And it was a blast!! Click here for more on that…

BBQ

My last BBQ update was on 6 competitions in two months… this one is about: ZERO! Crazy! But what a niiiiiice break it has been! The boys have still been cooking though. They even catered our church’s 4th of July party by cooking a WHOLE HOG! Let’s say Crazy, again!

Andy also created this video on how to cook a tri tip… it’s proven a quick effective/yummy way!

And that’s all until next time! August is pretty packed full of events so I am sure it will get a post all its own!

See my post from January/February, March, and April & May.

Brittany’s Fairy Weekend in the Sequoias at Camp Nelson

What a whirlwind of a weekend! Just last night we got back from Camp Nelson in the Sequoia National Forest. We were celebrating our dear friend Brittany’s upcoming nuptials with our dear mommies. Every fall, our moms go up to Camp Nelson for an official Girls Weekend. No kids, just the moms. But to celebrate the bride, our moms treated us to a first class weekend away. They pampered us in every way and cooked the most amazing food! Brittany was given special gifts, like the world’s most amazing fairy garden terrarium filled with miniature memories from all of us. And of course, the fairy that lives at the cabin continuously left us gifts, waiting on the doorstep of her little tree cottage—gifts like bridesmaids pins, fairy tattoos, and bubbles. Seriously this weekend was amazing. Our moms are just so amazing and it was just the start of celebrating my very special friend Brittany! These next three months are just going to be so much fun!

Here are just a handful of photos along with an extra special montage video of Brittany’s Fairy Weekend!

Bridesmaids!

Remember Eli’s birthday video, this was also created with iMovie. And was pretty much complete before leaving the mountains, I love my iPhone!

The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (April & May)

I really should have split this post up month by month but here’s two months of babies, brides, and BBQ!

Babies!

Jameson

Bath time fun with J at 3 months.

Amelia

Maybe the last visit with the little miss before the Logue’s move to San Diego. So sad for us but so happy for them and the work they are doing!

Owen!!

Little Owen arrived Monday, April 9! Little Eli just loves to show off “his baby” to anyone and everyone. They are just the cutest little brothers ever! The little photo collage are all from the night Owen was born, the next black and white photo is Owen at 10 days old settled in at home.

Grayson!!

Little Grayson arrived six weeks after his best friend Owen. This first photo is Grayson at about 14 hours old (the first time I saw him) then at 4 days old. Such love for this long awaited little guy!

Brides

Things are coming together for the brides. A lot of the big stuff has been taken care of and the details are working themselves out.

Lauren and I finished up her Save the Dates… Her and Kellen are BIG baseball fans and after taking engagement photos with Lindsay Chavez at Angels Stadium, we designed the Save the Date to resemble a baseball ticket. I’ll be posting more about these later.

Brittany and her maids went bridesmaid dress shopping last week… after going in for a short champagne colored dress we may end up with a floor length purple dress! Either way, I am gonna look goooood! haha ;o)

BBQ

In these last two months we have had 6 BBQ competitions… but the first of these was blogged last month (Vegas!). I am not going to bore you with too many details so go ahead and click on each image if you want to know more about the competition (it’ll link to the Rooftop blog).

Wildomar

No matter the size of that trophy, Rooftop is sure proud of getting a fifth in chicken! That is one hard category!

Sam’s Club

The guys got their first RGC (reserve grand champion aka 2nd place)… it was so so exciting!

Stagecoach

Three days of music and barbeque. I had to show this picture since I am usually taking them, thanks Dad!

Long Beach

This was an exhausting competition! Our TWO lines from 11 am until we sold out about 4:30 pm were each 40 people deep!

Scottsdale

Take note of their name on the jumbo tron during the awards! Soooooo cool!

See my post from January/February and March.

The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (March)

I totally planned to only post this every two months but March was just overflowing with babies, brides, and BBQ! Between baby showers, bridal birthdays, engagement parties, plus barbeque competitions and the launch of two more barbeque products… well, no wonder I am exhausted!

Babies!

Visits with Jameson (9 weeks) and Amelia (almost 5 weeks).

Our friends Jessica and Jamie each had their showers. They are just five weeks a part so it is so fun seeing them experience this together, and even more exciting to anticipate their boys growing up together!

Jess and our church threw Jamie’s shower, a theme of woodland creatures to match Owen’s nursery. Read Jess’ post (with more photos) here.

This was by far the most entertaining baby shower game I have ever seen! Each girl is blind folded and given a set of clothespins. Whoever can pin the most on the other wins. I am glad I can laugh at their pain because it was so so funny!

Here is both Jamie and Jessica, well more Owen and Grayson!

Just a week later was Jessica’s shower. Jamie and Trisha hosted this one and I must thank them for getting Jess’ favorite cupcakes from Truly Madly Sweetly… oooooh so so good! I was really excited for Jess’ shower, just like everyone else, including Jess, just because it has been a long time coming! I am tearing up now thinking about it, but after everything she has been through, this baby is such a blessing straight from God. So thankful for our little miracle, Grayson!

The theme of Jess’ shower also matches the nursery, navy blue and white with elephants. More photos on Jess’ blog here.

I was just a bit excited!

Jess provided her own favors for the shower… each candle tag says:

Hi Family and Friends,
Just want to thank you for helping mommy and daddy to welcome me into the world! On the day you hear my mommy is in labor, light the candle and say a prayer for me, my mommy, and daddy.
Thank you all and I can’t wait to meet you!!
Lots of love, Grayson

And of course a group shot of the girls toward the end of the shower… oh how I love them. I already blogged about this wonderful moment here.

I also designed the invites and some other paper goods for the actual showers and hope to blog about those soon!

Brides

Bride time has slowed down a bit but Lauren and I, with my mom, still made it down to the Vintage Marketplace for wedding decor ideas.

Later that same day, Andy and I attended Brittany and Eric’s Anchorman themed engagement party!

BBQ

BBQ is really getting into full swing! The second weekend of March was our competition in Santa Anita. Rooftop BBQ took their first ever 1st place trophy plaque in ribs! What a night! It was also Jamie’s husband Joey’s first time competing with the team too.

Then just this past weekend was our Vegas competition against 100 of the biggest teams in America. It was a tough competition but the boys beat their scores from last year pulling a 23rd and 26th in chicken and ribs. There was also a smaller, celebrity cook off that Andy took part in. His celebrity team mates were the wrestlers, the Hardy Brothers. It was so cool to see Andy in a Iron Chef like environment with camera crews, judges, and secret ingredients. All I have to say is that Andy was a lot nicer to their cooking goof offs than he is with me in the kitchen!

See my post from January and March.

The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ

I have officially declared 2012 as the Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ. There are at least four babies of close friends (okay… one came early and made it in 2011) and I’ve lost count of the others; three close friends getting married this year, two of which I am a bridesmaid in the wedding (whoo!); and I definitely lost count of all the adventures of BBQ that are coming up this year. But as I originally wanted this blog to be more design related, it’s definitely morphed into a personal journal of life. So at least for this year, I am going to recount the tales of these babies, brides, and BBQ every couple months. Got it? Good! Here’s to January and February!

Babies!

Baby Jameson made it just in time for New Years! Born at 3:15 on December 31. I fell in love in an instant!

One of Jameson’s many girlfriends is Miss Amelia! She was born February 15! I am so looking forward to meeting her in the coming weeks.

Then, in these next few months we will be welcoming baby Owen and his best friend Grayson! So so freaking excited to meet these little guys!

Brides

Here’s to another year of double bridesmaid time! In October, Lauren will be getting married in a camping, rustic themed wedding and just a few weeks later, Brittany will be getting married in a gold and purple rustic elegance themed wedding! It’s funny to see their wedding come to life in two very different ways! I got to go dress shopping with them both—Lauren even bought hers that same day! We also went garage sale shopping for Lauren’s wedding, collecting wooden crates and all things “vintage camping” related—and some board games for the reception! Then I got to take Brittany and her fiance Eric’s engagement photos, celebrate their engagement at a party in Dana Pointe, and spend a day with the ladies at a bridal expo!

BBQ

And lastly, barbeque. Andy has been going full throttle to continue launching his BBQ sauce to the masses. It’s in our local farmer’s market-like store, Tom’s Farms, but also in countless other online BBQ stores. Not only is his sauce being sold like crazy—their BBQ competition team, Rooftop Barbeque, won second place for their chili verde at their January competition in Havasu. THEN they filmed an audition tape to get on the third season of BBQ pitmasters! AND THEN they are in the running for the best BBQ sauce on About.com, after already winning Scott Robert’s best BBQ sauce. He’s such a busy guy and I am one proud wifey!
