1. 85th Academy Awards Poster Big fan of this year's poster for the Academy Awards. Each Oscar represents the best picture winner from 1927–2012. I had fun going through the close ups of each, but I defintely didn't make it all the way through. I definitely can appreciate how much time this must have taken the designer. Found via Hit Fix. 2. Terra Nova Church Rebranding Process I always enjoy a good "behind the scenes" process post, especially by one of my favorite designers! Read Kevin Richardson's process on developing the graphics and site for his home schurch, Terra Nova. 3.  Hotel Daniel Wood Pallet Definitely one of the cooler uses of a wood pallet that I've seen! Designed by Moodley, found via the Graphic-Exchange. 4. Live Painting of a Wedding Ceremony I have only heard of this once and it was actually a friend of mine who painted as she was inspired during a church sermon—but how cool would it be to have an artist painting your wedding ceremony as it happened?! Oh so cool! Found via Jagger Photography. 5. Narnia Playroom Oh how I want to have this when we have kids!! Amazingly epic! Found via Pinterest, originally from Parenting Done Right.

1. Oh Hello Friend's New Shop I was so excited to be able to stop by the brand new Oh Hello Friend shop Wednesday night on my way to Disneyland. Excited is actually an understatement. I was so overwhelmed by the quantity of quality handmade goods, vintage finds, and overall shop decor that I ended up only buying a pack of rubber stamps! I already regret making such a small purchase, so I am already scheming on when I can get back out there. Plus, I got to meet Danni

1. Swiss Air Now that work has slowed down a bit these past couple weeks I have been able to catch up my design blogs. Which is something I love to do to get inspired for upcoming projects and also to see what's new in the design community. One blog I have been following since its conception is Vintage Me Oh My. Megan has a keen eye for design and I loved her recent post of these layouts for Swiss Air. And I totally agree with her as she asked, "Does it seem like Swiss Air was always on top of their design?" 2. Dave's Gourmet Hot Sauce, Concept by Amber Asay Last year—well in 2011—I posted my birthday wish list (25 Wishes) and one item I requested was one of Dave's Gourmet Hot Sauce, Insanity. It's by far my favorite hot sauce! It's got crazy hot spice where you should never have more than a drop applied to your food but it also has flavor (I hate hot sauces that are just hot, and that's it, no flavor but heat). Anyyyyyway, I found Amber Asay through designworklife's post, and I love her concept to revise the Dave's Gourmet product line. She based

Make sure you read through the design posts to find an extra sweet treat discovery! 1. Lettering versus Calligraphy As I have been exploring the art of lettering and calligraphy—which to many seem one in the same as the term lettering is rather vague—I got super excited to stumble upon the site of Lettering versus Calligraphy. I thought all the mysteries of the typography universes were about to be solved! While the site may not solve my age old question, I did find the site to be a fun adventure in type exploration ::nerd alert:: It consists of a visual dialogue between a letterer and a calligrapher, where they draw/write a letter responding to a keyword given by a moderator. The adventure aims to explore the capabilities of the two technical approaches. It delivers one letter daily and takes place online, where the visitors are invited to vote for their favourite. Found via swissmiss. 2. Brad Woodard's New Site Another fun site I found this week was the brand new site for illustrator Brad Woodard—a designer I have featured quite a few times now, and the designer of one of my favorite wedding invitation suites ever! Check it out—its full of amazing new work! Found via

Sorry to have missed this post last week, but there was just no way, no how I could manage it—plus I hadn't spent much time perusing the interwebs either. So carry on to the delayed Evernotes Every! 1. Engler Studio Identity I love the splashes of yellow amid the bold black and white, but what I really love is the concept behind this design for the interior decorating team at Engler Studio: We wanted to create a brand for Engler Studio that embraced its interior design skills, as well as its individual design personality. The main element of the brand is a graphic combination of patterns that overlap each other; they represent the images and colors you might find on an interior designer’s inspiration board, and also refer to the play of patterns, colors, light and shadows in a beautifully designed room. Designed by Eight Hour Day. 2. Gig Poster for Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings So much going on in this poster with the organic yet abstract shapes—yet it has a simple design in terms of color and imagery. It definitely caught my eye while browsing the pins of Pinterest. 3.  Antique a Mirror It's full speed ahead in redecorating our home office. As I was

1. Pantone 2013 Color Chart Love each and everyone of these! Found via Pinterest. 2. Jan V. White You could spend hours perusing the new Jan V. White site. As his About page states: Jan V. White is a magazine guru and design consultant to publishing companies. He has given more than 1800 seminars in 27 countries on the relationship of layout and graphics to editing. His goal is to persuade word-people to think visually and visual people to think verbally. Understanding each other and blending their skills increases the impact and quality of their shared product. And now eight of his books are online for free! Over his forty-year design career, Jan V. White wrote twelve books on grids, page layout, typography, designing charts and graphs, the use of color, and other aspects of information design. Now, eight of his classic design books can be yours, free. Seriously hours and hours can be spent on this site, truly an amazing gift to the design community! Found via Nubby Twiglet. 3.  Christel Llop Calligraphy Just last week I posted about needing to take a calligraphy class, well you guys, this stuff is hard! So far my letters are not looking the way I hoped. That class is looking more

1. Bookworld Once upon in Bookworld, all the characters in your favorite books found their home, an online home like Amazon but the Australian version! Crikey! Alright alright, it's really best described in Interbrand Austrailia's case study: Interbrand Creative Director Mike Rigby explains “our solution was born from asking ourselves a very simple question: have you ever wondered where the characters go when you close the book? The answer is, they go to Bookworld — where books come from.” This thought led to the literal creation of a “Bookworld” — a magical place where every book in the history of literature comes from. The fun, engaging and entertaining brand plays out across a series of illustrated, genre specific landscapes. From Crime City, to Horror-Ville and everything in between. Bookworld is also a place that’s full of characters. And many famous personalities and archetypes populate the communications. From Sherlock Holmes, to Frankenstein. The new logotype features a simple and bold “B” that is reminiscent of a book with the subtle “W” designed to look like a Bookmark. The logo is also designed to open up in animation — much like a book — revealing the magical world within. Found via Brand New. 2. Breadshop Logo Design by
