A HUGE great BIG thanks must first go out to Jessica at J. Rose Photography for inviting me to tag along with her as she photographed our friend Lynzie's wedding. Having videographed quite a few weddings (also as an assistant), I have seen my share of the behind the scenes, but as the videographers follow the photographer, the head photographer really has the greatest responsibility on his or her shoulders. Jessica knew that I had always wanted to assist her at a wedding and as she rarely shoots them, I finally just got my chance. Mostly I only photographed the formals but my favorites are of just Lynzie and her now husband Daniel. I must say my favorite part of being a second shooter is getting the chance to shoot the artsier shot

When Matt sent me a text message on the Thursday before Christmas I just knew what it would entail. He was about to propose to my best friend. What started as a discussion on the where and when turned into the who and what as well. I would be starting Amie's morning with breakfast and coffee with a walk down to the Orange Circle where her darling boyfriend would be awaiting her with a ring in hand. Of course, several minute details of the day caused several mishaps like Matt falling asleep after his night shift and barely making it in time to propose and Amie having one of the many colds of the winter season. Those small "almost missed the moment" moments will add the depth every good proposal story needs. I will always remember the day as the morning I cried on the phone with my mom as I drove to Orange County in the anticipation of the day.  The morning I drank too much coffee to stall the soon to be bride before the [so far] best moment of her life. The morning I got to witness, and photograph, when my best friend's man of her dreams got down

Huge thanks to the Johnson family for being my first family portrait session! I could not have asked for a better family, better weather, or a better location for this session. It was perfect! We took these the weekend after Thanksgiving but as they were a Christmas gift to family members, they had to be locked up tight! But now that Christmas has been celebrated, let's carry on the festivities with a little Christmas portrait viewing! P.S. You may recognize Rachel for a bazillion other posts on here, this growing photography obsession got a huge start from her modeling services!

Well the wedding came and went in a whirlwind of fun and laughter. Now Andy and I are in cloudy and cold Washington enjoying a much needed vacation while Kellen and Lauren are enjoying a sunny ocean filled honeymoon in Hawaii. Before too much more time has past, I wanted to share a few photos I took of the almost married couple for their wedding invitation. We only needed one photo for the RSVP card so we were there and gone within 15 minutes if not less than that! Here's the photo side of their RSVP card, I will share more of the invitation (and hopefully some wedding photos) next week too. And here's two more that didn't make the cut for the RSVP card but I still just loooooove how they came out! Ah! I seriously just adore them! Mr. & Mrs. Wagoner I mean

Brittany's maid of honor, and sister, Torrie—with a little help from me and our moms—hosted the most beautiful bridal shower. Every small detail was attended to. One item I was able to really help with was the invitations. As soon as Torrie thought up the theme, "Lavender and Lace," I had the vision of an etched illustration of a small bouquet of lavender tied together with lace. I enlisted my good friend Rachel to illustrate my idea for me and it came out so perfect, exactly what I pictured! Rachel, thank you thank you thank you! And of course, the centerpieces incorporated white lace and a variety of white flowers, set in mason jars. All designed by Torrie. You couldn't have asked for a better reaction from the bride! Each guest received a lavender sachet for their panty drawer too, the perfect favor for a lingerie shower! Torrie and I each made a dessert, white chocolate cake pops and cupcakes made with Prosecco. Amazing job, Torrie! Thanks for allowing me to help your vision come to life! And of course, a big thanks to our moms/Tutu aunties who made sure Torrie, the mother of the bride, and myself could sit back and enjoy the shower—making sure everything

What a whirlwind of a weekend! Just last night we got back from Camp Nelson in the Sequoia National Forest. We were celebrating our dear friend Brittany's upcoming nuptials with our dear mommies. Every fall, our moms go up to Camp Nelson for an official Girls Weekend. No kids, just the moms. But to celebrate the bride, our moms treated us to a first class weekend away. They pampered us in every way and cooked the most amazing food! Brittany was given special gifts, like the world's most amazing fairy garden terrarium filled with miniature memories from all of us. And of course, the fairy that lives at the cabin continuously left us gifts, waiting on the doorstep of her little tree cottage—gifts like bridesmaids pins, fairy tattoos, and bubbles. Seriously this weekend was amazing. Our moms are just so amazing and it was just the start of celebrating my very special friend Brittany! These next three months are just going to be so much fun! Here are just a handful of photos along with an extra special montage video of Brittany's Fairy Weekend! Remember Eli's birthday video, this was also created with iMovie. And was pretty much complete before leaving the

I just adooooore how this birth announcement came out for my good friend Jessica's baby boy Grayson! Just loooove it! Another thing I love is when Jess and I get to come together and use both of our gifts! She took each of these just adorable photos of her son and then I designed the card from the laying out of the photos to the type on the banner. Isn't he just the cutest??! Jessica has such a talent for newborn photography! And I am sure she felt pressure on her own son's photos but they are just amazing. And another note, Jess is such an AMAZING mother. I've luckily seen her love in person for her little boy but she blogs the sweetest little posts about her baby boy and the joys of being a mom. Jess also asked me to come by and help get a family of three photo for her. Which was quite nerve racking

Finally we found a day to take photos of Rachel and Patrick around the Disneyland Resort. We wanted to keep to the areas that looked like the 20s-40s but didn't stick that plan entirely. It was fun finding different locations that were within the park but didn't look like we were actually at an amusement park. The summer crowds were quite the challenge to work around but Rachel and Patrick were in high spirits the whole afternoon and were a pleasure to work with as always. You may remember a few photos of them from last year taken for their senior prom. And here we are a year later

I have yet to have a session that I have loved so many of the final photos! I won't even tell you how many I ended up giving Breanna because it was just too many but I just couldn't keep them to myself! We did a two day session with two times to sunsets! Thanks Breanna for your beautiful smile and even your fake one! Congratulations on graduation, excited for where God takes you from here! (I seriously ended each sentence with an exclamation point
