Another day with Rachel, another day of photos to be taken! I am still learning how to properly back light a portrait so this wonderful evening of sun was perfect for the occasion! After I picked her up from University of California, Irvine, we made a quick stop by a local nature preserve. It was an adventure as neither of us knew what was back there but it was totally worth it! Then we drove over to our happy place, Disneyland. We took a few more pictures behind Grizzly Rapids and then went on some rides ourselves! A good night was had by all! Many thanks to Rachel for appeasing my need to photograph someone! Anyone! I am desperate to learn more and more and she is always up for new pictures to add to her portfolio. And also thanks to her for this lovely photo of her view! Think of Christmas, Think of snow. Think of sleigh bells. Here we go! Like a reindeer in the sky. You can fly! Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas!   “Too many people grow up. That’s the real trouble with the world, too many people grow up. They forget. They don’t remember what it’s like to be 12 years old. They patronise, they treat children as inferiors. Well I won’t do that.” - Walt Disney Photo from Walt Disney Productions, holiday card, 1953. Via D23.

Earlier last week, the hubby and I brought in our few Christmas tubs from the garage. We didn't have the time the last two years to even decorate so we were pretty excited to put up what we had! We don't have much in Christmas decorations so it didn't take longer than 15 minutes to have everything up. We're not getting our tree until this weekend so be looking for a part 2! The Mantel Kirkland's Nativity For our wedding, my best friend's mother gave us this nativity from Kirkland Home. It is my favorite part of our decorations, from the style to the subject. I just love it. Jim Shore Christmas Donald Another favorite decoration, our Christmas Donald made by Jim Shore. We also have a pumpkin with Minnie Mouse for Halloween/Fall; she kept her appearance on top of our tv for the last two years actually. We hope to have a Jim Shore to put out for each holiday and season. Entry Way Coming Up Next! When Andy and I got married, some of our compromises included what to do with my plethora of Disney merchandise. So I have a mini table top tree that's just for my Disney ornaments. You're excited to see that, right?

As I mentioned in yesterday's, rather late, Evernotes Every, I was prescribed muscle relaxers to help with my headaches which have taken away the headache pain but induced never ending drowsiness. Since I was planning on having a night out on Friday, my husband asked me to see if taking the muscle relaxer every other day would help with my constant drowsiness. Well, unfortunately, I had a headache

Finally! Finally, after three months since its opening day, I took a ride into the futuristic lands of Star Wars with Star Tours. I loved it! I was never a devoted fan to the original though so I am not the best person to look to for a full review/comparison of the ride. It's definitely a good time and that's the point of the ride, isn't it? Before I share my photos from the trip, I just wanted to let all of you know about this awesome iPhone/Android app that will help you keep track of which destinations you made it to as there are over 50 scenarios for your trip. The app can be found here: Download Disney World iOS App | Download Disneyland iOS App Download Disney World Android App | Download Disneyland Android App But if you don't have an iPhone or Droid, or don't care to download it, you can track your progress online here. And here's a quick run through of the various destinations and variations: The rebel spy beginning will begin with one of these characters Darth Vader Scan droid First planet stop you can visit Hoth (Empire Strikes Back battle) Kashyyyk Tatooine (Pod racing scene) You will receive a hologram message from Princess Leia Yoda Admiral Ackbar Second planet stop

These are a few more of my favorites from our "mini photo shoot before riding some rides at Disneyland." I posted this sneak peek on Saturday because I was just too excited about how the photos taken on the top level (Minnie) of the Disney parking structure's turned out! Here's a few more for your viewing pleasure and I hope to get the rest posted to Facebook when they're ready! Thank you again Rachel for always being the willing model and being patient with me while I continue to practice and learn more about photography! The sun was quickly setting so the following photo was taken on our walk from the parking structure to Downtown Disney. There was a small opening in the trees, allowing just enough light to shine on her face. Once we got into Downtown Disney, the sun was blocked by the Disneyland Hotel (good to know next time!) so we took a few more photos and then headed into the park. And here's one last photo

Matic: Wedding Materials What a creative way to incorporate your guests into the namecards at your wedding! They had each guest (and their guest) apply their thumbprints to the RSVP card and then they were scanned and merged together to form hearts! So cute! Designed by Matic. Found via designworklife. Ocean Logo I just discovered Jay Fletcher and have fallen in love with his work! This logo is so creative! The typographical logotype flows seamlessly into an image able to stand on its own! Found Jay Fletcher through via designworklife. Not Having Fun at Disneyland I love the Imagineering Disney blog and read it regularly but then when I saw they created a post all about people not having fun at Disneyland, I just cracked up! All the photos featured were scanned from actual Disney books and merchandise

Thanks for joining me yet again on a short tour of Southern California! View part one of Day 1 and 2 if you missed it! Day 3 Ahhhh, Beach Day. Amie and Joyce would get together once a week, before Joyce moved, to go to the beach. A different beach each week as well, a sort of tour of So Cal beaches, in a way. But this time I got to join them! A day designated just to relax with little to no schedule to follow? Sounds perfect! Of course, I still managed to make a schedule. I just can't help myself! We started the day (after Coffee Bean, my favorite) by heading down to the Rainbow Sandals outlet store in San Clemente. Can you believe I have never had a pair of Rainbows before? It's like I haven't lived here my whole life or something! After we made our purchases we drove north along the coast headed to Laguna Beach. Andy once took me to the beach below the Montage and I have gone back there for every beach trip since as it is a relatively peaceful beach, not too many kiddos and not too many people in general. After the ocean wading,

1. Mary Blair's Peter Pan I just adore the unique illustrative style of Mary Blair, an artist who worked alongside Walt Disney. Her character drawings alone stand apart and are instantly recognizable but then the landscapes she creates are so fantastical that it makes me want to be able to enter this colorful world she has created! Last weekend, Rachel and I went and perused the Mary Blair exhibit at Disneyland. We had so much fun seeing how her ideas and concepts for Small World became a reality. Remember the Cinderella piece I showed you last week? That same blog also showcased a 6 part series on Mary Blair and I found this illustration done for Peter Pan. Anything Peter Pan grabs my attention, but if it's done by Mary Blair too, then that's just awesome. She has illustrated children's books for Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. My best friend Amie has already been instructed to gift these to me and my baby shower (whenever that may come to pass). 2. Anthony Martinez' Clermont Ferrand With so much being said in one piece, Anthony Martinez, defined a hierarchy that leads the viewer throughout the piece, starting with the title "On the
