wedding

Well the wedding came and went in a whirlwind of fun and laughter. Now Andy and I are in cloudy and cold Washington enjoying a much needed vacation while Kellen and Lauren are enjoying a sunny ocean filled honeymoon in Hawaii. Before too much more time has past, I wanted to share a few photos I took of the almost married couple for their wedding invitation. We only needed one photo for the RSVP card so we were there and gone within 15 minutes if not less than that! Here's the photo side of their RSVP card, I will share more of the invitation (and hopefully some wedding photos) next week too. And here's two more that didn't make the cut for the RSVP card but I still just loooooove how they came out! Ah! I seriously just adore them! Mr. & Mrs. Wagoner I mean

Years, seriously years ago I thought about a Central Park themed shower for our friend Lauren. She just loves the city of New York and the Yankees so obviously Central Park is the girly side of that! Thankfully my usual partner in crime, Jessica from J. Rose Photography, and our fellow bridesmaids, Trisha and Jamie, all came together to bring this shower to a reality. This shower was Lauren Lauren Lauren! Every decision was made based on, what would Lauren choose? What would Lauren want? So instead of the normal frilly girly shower, we had a hot dog bar and a popcorn machine. Instead of playing the usual shower games, that the bride can't participate in anyway, we played a revamped version of corn-hole, Pass the Bouquet (aka hot potato), and then the ultimate finale of a potato sack race! And instead of floral centerpieces we had picnic baskets that kept the guests' plates, silverware, napkins, and the smore's pop favors. And instead of everyone at tables, most sat on a collection of thrifted picnic sheets with pillows to lean on. Oh and Jamie and Jess concocted the most amazing vintage set up for a beautiful backdrop for Lauren to open

For quite some time now I've been wanting to illustrate a mess of iconic places to symbolize the whole location(?? does that even make sense??) so when we decided to throw Lauren a "picnic in Central Park" themed shower, I thought, I can illustrate the invite!!! <--- longest sentence ever? The one and only time I have ever been to Central Park was one evening in 2005 where we spent the remaining half hour of daylight being drawn by a character artist which resulted in my only seeing Central Park in the dark—which was kinda scary. All that to say, I had to Google Central Park and when I found the carousel, I thought that to be the focal point of the invite and the weight of my illustration. From there I went on to draw the elements that we planned to use at the shower: picnic baskets, kites, flags, and banners. Oh and there would be a lake to with boats! Yay! Thank you Canyon Lake! We used bright reds, blues, greens, and yellows all throughout the shower from the red hotdog and popcorn stands to the bright multi colored pendant banners. I just love how the shower came out, from the

This is the last post before the October and November weddings, eeeek!!!! Babies! Jameson Jameson totally crashed Brittany's first bridal shower but it's okay, we got to have a little photo shoot with him on the grass. Oh and then he came to our annual hotluck (his mama Courtney was pregnant with him at last years!). And I got to feed him his dinner and oh my was that so fun! He just loves to eat, it was cracking me up! Plus my grandpa asked to hold him and Jmo was so entranced by his glasses, so so cute! He really just keeps getting cuter and cuter and just has the best personality! Owen!! Oh this baby

Brittany's maid of honor, and sister, Torrie—with a little help from me and our moms—hosted the most beautiful bridal shower. Every small detail was attended to. One item I was able to really help with was the invitations. As soon as Torrie thought up the theme, "Lavender and Lace," I had the vision of an etched illustration of a small bouquet of lavender tied together with lace. I enlisted my good friend Rachel to illustrate my idea for me and it came out so perfect, exactly what I pictured! Rachel, thank you thank you thank you! And of course, the centerpieces incorporated white lace and a variety of white flowers, set in mason jars. All designed by Torrie. You couldn't have asked for a better reaction from the bride! Each guest received a lavender sachet for their panty drawer too, the perfect favor for a lingerie shower! Torrie and I each made a dessert, white chocolate cake pops and cupcakes made with Prosecco. Amazing job, Torrie! Thanks for allowing me to help your vision come to life! And of course, a big thanks to our moms/Tutu aunties who made sure Torrie, the mother of the bride, and myself could sit back and enjoy the shower—making sure everything

This is a lighter post of the series but it's truly the calm before the super fun storm coming up! Babies! Jameson Little Jameson has been growing and growing and growing. It's been almost two months since I have seen him but when I did get in a visit he got to show me all his new tricks like eating baby food from a spoon and bouncing in his bouncer. Oh I miss him, Mama Courtney!!! Owen!! Baby Owen has been chunking up before our very eyes. All I want to do is kiss those cheeks!! I am so thankful for how much time we spend with the Chapins and their boys. Owen and I got to spend a few special "first time with Sam" moments together all in one night, I got to feed, burp, and put him to sleep, and then he peed and spit up all over me! It's love for sure! Grayson!! Oh and this baby. He's still the smallest of course but there's evidence of a second chin coming in! Not only did I get the chance to feed him too, we even got to have a slumber party with all the cuddling I wanted! Plus Jessica and I worked on his

What a whirlwind of a weekend! Just last night we got back from Camp Nelson in the Sequoia National Forest. We were celebrating our dear friend Brittany's upcoming nuptials with our dear mommies. Every fall, our moms go up to Camp Nelson for an official Girls Weekend. No kids, just the moms. But to celebrate the bride, our moms treated us to a first class weekend away. They pampered us in every way and cooked the most amazing food! Brittany was given special gifts, like the world's most amazing fairy garden terrarium filled with miniature memories from all of us. And of course, the fairy that lives at the cabin continuously left us gifts, waiting on the doorstep of her little tree cottage—gifts like bridesmaids pins, fairy tattoos, and bubbles. Seriously this weekend was amazing. Our moms are just so amazing and it was just the start of celebrating my very special friend Brittany! These next three months are just going to be so much fun! Here are just a handful of photos along with an extra special montage video of Brittany's Fairy Weekend! Remember Eli's birthday video, this was also created with iMovie. And was pretty much complete before leaving the

When our friends Lauren and Kellen booked their engagement session, with Lindsay Chavez, at Angels' Stadium, the first thought I had was to make their Save the Date look like a baseball game ticket! Their actual wedding is themed with outdoor rustic and camping items, which is totally them, but baseball is another fun activity that they love to attend and follow. So in keeping with the rusticness of their wedding we created a vintage baseball ticket for their save the date. Adding another fun twist is that Lauren is a huge Yankee fan while Kellen just loves the Angels, so what better teams to come together for a game of baseball! And I just love the way the final product came out! While researching baseball tickets and their various looks, I came across this Angels' ticket from 1962! From then on, I knew we were on the right track! And the rest of the design flowed from there. So excited for your wedding in October! Love you both!!

Back in January, I started to work with Tessa Ellis, a hair stylist who works at Shear Envy in Wildomar. Tessa and I have known each other close to forever, aka since middle school and have just reconnected over the last couple years. Anyway, back to January, Tessa asked me to design a logo for her personal brand as she is expanding further into styling for brides. To design her logo, I asked her to fill out a brief questionnaire that would describe her business and help me with visual cues. Many of Tessa's answers followed the same theme

I really should have split this post up month by month but here's two months of babies, brides, and BBQ! Babies! Jameson Bath time fun with J at 3 months. Amelia Maybe the last visit with the little miss before the Logue's move to San Diego. So sad for us but so happy for them and the work they are doing! Owen!! Little Owen arrived Monday, April 9! Little Eli just loves to show off "his baby" to anyone and everyone. They are just the cutest little brothers ever! The little photo collage are all from the night Owen was born, the next black and white photo is Owen at 10 days old settled in at home. Grayson!! Little Grayson arrived six weeks after his best friend Owen. This first photo is Grayson at about 14 hours old (the first time I saw him) then at 4 days old. Such love for this long awaited little guy! Brides Things are coming together for the brides. A lot of the big stuff has been taken care of and the details are working themselves out. Lauren and I finished up her Save the Dates
