1. 85th Academy Awards Poster Big fan of this year's poster for the Academy Awards. Each Oscar represents the best picture winner from 1927–2012. I had fun going through the close ups of each, but I defintely didn't make it all the way through. I definitely can appreciate how much time this must have taken the designer. Found via Hit Fix. 2. Terra Nova Church Rebranding Process I always enjoy a good "behind the scenes" process post, especially by one of my favorite designers! Read Kevin Richardson's process on developing the graphics and site for his home schurch, Terra Nova. 3. Hotel Daniel Wood Pallet Definitely one of the cooler uses of a wood pallet that I've seen! Designed by Moodley, found via the Graphic-Exchange. 4. Live Painting of a Wedding Ceremony I have only heard of this once and it was actually a friend of mine who painted as she was inspired during a church sermon—but how cool would it be to have an artist painting your wedding ceremony as it happened?! Oh so cool! Found via Jagger Photography. 5. Narnia Playroom Oh how I want to have this when we have kids!! Amazingly epic! Found via Pinterest, originally from Parenting Done Right.
Doilies, Lace and Burlap Engagement Party for Amie and Matt
This past year I have been obsessed with scrapbooking. Literally, obsessed. My husband will not even go with me to Michael's anymore
Photographing My Best Friend’s Proposal
When Matt sent me a text message on the Thursday before Christmas I just knew what it would entail. He was about to propose to my best friend. What started as a discussion on the where and when turned into the who and what as well. I would be starting Amie's morning with breakfast and coffee with a walk down to the Orange Circle where her darling boyfriend would be awaiting her with a ring in hand. Of course, several minute details of the day caused several mishaps like Matt falling asleep after his night shift and barely making it in time to propose and Amie having one of the many colds of the winter season. Those small "almost missed the moment" moments will add the depth every good proposal story needs. I will always remember the day as the morning I cried on the phone with my mom as I drove to Orange County in the anticipation of the day. The morning I drank too much coffee to stall the soon to be bride before the [so far] best moment of her life. The morning I got to witness, and photograph, when my best friend's man of her dreams got down

1. Branding Santa Christmas may be over, but these brand guidelines for Santa Claus are too funny. I love the main category guidelines: clothes, hat, voice, and hobbies along with the textiles of satin, fur and leather. Something so true but I have never thought about

Well the weddings have come and gone as the babies have just grown and grown and grown

1. Martin Treu Site Design Here's a wonderful combination of illustration and web design at its best! For Martin Treu, an architect, author, graphic designer and urbanist. To encompass all these traits, Projekt, Inc. and illustrator Scotty Reifsnyder created a fun WordPress site that utilizes a massive illustrated and animated homepage. Each subpage then shows a snippet of that main illustration, matching whichever building/sign that you clicked on. I just love it! Not only is it a great concept, the execution couldn't be better. Gotta love those colors, texture, and style. Found via designworklife. 2. Eat at My Desk Thanks to the previous post on designworklife, I found Projekt, Inc., a design company I will be for sure following in the future. Another project by them that I found so creative and amazing is Eat at My Desk, a parternship between businesses and restaurants, creating "a kind of virtual food court situation for their employees." I want to join! Hoping this idea catches on in southern California. Specifically Chino! 3. Hover States Are you seeing a web design trend today? That gives you a hint at what I've been consumed with at work
A Moment: “I’m Getting Married Today”
Just 11 days ago, one of my best friends growing up got married. She is my oldest and closest friend yet to get married and I really couldn't be more excited. This past year with her has been so much fun and such an encouragement to our friendship. Our moms are best friends and they couldn't remind us enough about the value of friendship. Brittany met Eric just a mere month after Andy and I got married, so for the past 5 years I have been waiting for her to join me in wedded bliss! So that morning on November 3rd, Brittany turned to me and quietly, but excitedly, says "I'm getting married today." At her saying that, a billion memories and emotions hit me all at once leaving my breathlessly happy for my friend to marry her prince. I couldn't have been happier to join Brittany as she walked from our hotel room—where she prepared for the greatest day of her life—to get in the limo that was whisking us away to the wedding ceremony, where she would be becoming one with her love. I couldn't be happier to stand up with Brittany as she declared her unconditional love for Eric. And I couldn't be

Try the Grey Stuff, It's Delicious Sometimes I will save an image just to be able to recall the article at a later date, such as the case of this review of the brand new Be Our Guest restaurant at the newly renovated Fantasyland of Walt Disney World. It's truly a detailed article about the restaurant from its high-tech ordering system to photos of each of the various rooms—from the Beast's lair to the ballroom—to photos of several of the dinner options. All this to say, Disney is
