Now that you've seen Rachel's maternity photos, the next glimpse into the shower would be the baby shower invitations! I drew inspiration from Mary Blair's work on the credits from Cinderella and then applied Rachel's nursery's color palette with its pinks, peaches, and mint greens. The "Once Upon A Time" mark was handwritten as well as Rachel's name, then a combination of two other typefaces, a modern serif and a medieval display text completed the invite. This really was a work of love, and definitely one of my favorite invitations yet! In addition to the invitation, I created a bookmark with Rachel's favorite verse, Jeremiah 29:11, as the shower favors. Along with a print to go along with it for the nursery as well. All of these pieces of the invitation can be bought in my Etsy shop: Your New Friend Sam. In addition to the invite pieces—and to go along with the storybook theme—I created a custom bookplate stamp for Amelia's baby books. Also available in my Etsy shop. So many fun projects were created and designed for Rachel's shower! I can not wait to show you rest of the photos from the day of

When Rachel found out she was having a baby girl, we went right to work planning a dream of a princess fairytale baby shower. But first, Rachel having a baby just meant a few more photo shoots to plan as well. Our goal was to shoot around the castle to go with the fairytale baby shower that was coming up so that we could frame and display these photos as part of the decorations. You already got a glimpse of the mama to be in her 26th week, but here she is at week 32, with her beau Kyle in tow. And as an added bonus to the day, Jessica from J. Rose Photography tagged along with us. She took this first set of photos below

The day was planned as an evening in to craft for Rachel's May baby shower (themed fairytale storybook), but we of course couldn't resist the backwoods of Menifee and the sprawling fields that are just minutes away from the Baby Shower Crafting Center—i.e. my house. :) So this is the results of the question "wanna do a quick 10 minute mini shoot before we start crafting the night away?" Rachel is only 26 weeks here in these photos, we plan to take the "real" photos next month

Last night I mentioned that I have been quite a busy worker bee. Working a full time job leads to late nights working on freelance projects. Which then leads to no time to get an Evernotes Every post together. So this edition is going to be a little different and maybe something I can start doing once every few months (??). Today I am giving a glimpse into a few different projects that I have been brewing. I'd love to know if you like this kind of post, let me know if you like in the comments. 1. Soccer Camp Two weeks ago I worked on a graphic for the coach's t-shirts for an upcoming soccer camp at my church

Huge thanks to the Johnson family for being my first family portrait session! I could not have asked for a better family, better weather, or a better location for this session. It was perfect! We took these the weekend after Thanksgiving but as they were a Christmas gift to family members, they had to be locked up tight! But now that Christmas has been celebrated, let's carry on the festivities with a little Christmas portrait viewing! P.S. You may recognize Rachel for a bazillion other posts on here, this growing photography obsession got a huge start from her modeling services!

Finally we found a day to take photos of Rachel and Patrick around the Disneyland Resort. We wanted to keep to the areas that looked like the 20s-40s but didn't stick that plan entirely. It was fun finding different locations that were within the park but didn't look like we were actually at an amusement park. The summer crowds were quite the challenge to work around but Rachel and Patrick were in high spirits the whole afternoon and were a pleasure to work with as always. You may remember a few photos of them from last year taken for their senior prom. And here we are a year later

Another day with Rachel, another day of photos to be taken! I am still learning how to properly back light a portrait so this wonderful evening of sun was perfect for the occasion! After I picked her up from University of California, Irvine, we made a quick stop by a local nature preserve. It was an adventure as neither of us knew what was back there but it was totally worth it! Then we drove over to our happy place, Disneyland. We took a few more pictures behind Grizzly Rapids and then went on some rides ourselves! A good night was had by all! Many thanks to Rachel for appeasing my need to photograph someone! Anyone! I am desperate to learn more and more and she is always up for new pictures to add to her portfolio. And also thanks to her for this lovely photo of her view! I had just left my position at the dance studio when I asked Rachel if I could take her to Disneyland on her birthday—it was the Year of a Million Dreams and you were given a free ticket for your birthday. She said yes—of course—and my worries of not seeing the Johnson family subsided. Who knew that that one ticket would turn into a pass, and that year pass would turn into two. And here we are, our third annual trip to celebrate Rachel's birthday, with many a trip in between. I've seen this young girl turn into a young woman, embarking upon her first year of college. I've seen her from braces to implants (ha!), from ballet to "hip hop," from the awkward middle school stage to flourishing college student. And have loved every minute of it. Thanks for wanting to spend time on your birthday with me and sharing my passion for the Happiest Place on Earth, Rachel dear. Happy 19th Birthday! P.S. I had no idea I made you take a photo with your button each year so I had to put those together too! P.P.S. Rachel has also been so kind to help me learn photography by graciously modeling for

These are a few more of my favorites from our "mini photo shoot before riding some rides at Disneyland." I posted this sneak peek on Saturday because I was just too excited about how the photos taken on the top level (Minnie) of the Disney parking structure's turned out! Here's a few more for your viewing pleasure and I hope to get the rest posted to Facebook when they're ready! Thank you again Rachel for always being the willing model and being patient with me while I continue to practice and learn more about photography! The sun was quickly setting so the following photo was taken on our walk from the parking structure to Downtown Disney. There was a small opening in the trees, allowing just enough light to shine on her face. Once we got into Downtown Disney, the sun was blocked by the Disneyland Hotel (good to know next time!) so we took a few more photos and then headed into the park. And here's one last photo
