Another Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (March & April)
I really thought life couldn't be crazier than it was last year, but this year has seriously been insane! I am so blessed with the work that I have been doing and get to do, but I am ever so thankful for these babies and being the matron of honor to my best friend bride to be, Amie! Oh and I guess I am thankful for BBQ too. ;) Babies! So so many babies! From the ones turning 1 and the newborns and the ones still getting ready for their arrivals! Owen This last month we celebrated little Chunk's first birthday. He has changed so much these last two months, losing so much of the chub and is looking more and more like a little man. And of course, celebrating his first birthday just made me think all the more of the day he blessed Jamie and Joey one year ago! P.S. He even got his first haircut last week! So looking forward to seeing him in person! Grayson After not seeing Grayson much this first part of the year, I got to make up for it so much in April alone! We got to go and visit our friends in Redlands right before Kyrene had little
Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
We arrived at the hospital at 8 p.m. By 10:30, we were able to give little Parker a kiss on the cheek and praise God for his little life. Granted his mama had been there since 6 a.m. :) Either way, litte Parker's arrival got me thinking about life. And how intricate God has made each and every one of us. And how "the big bang theory" doesn't fly with me when you see a half hour old baby, see him cooing right up against his mommy. Knowing that man and wife created this life by God's grace. That doesn't just "happen." That doesn't just evolve. Because really, our bodies fall apart over time. They don't evolve throughout our lifespan and get better, they slowly decay. So no, I do not believe that life came from a spark or whatever the latest evidence and research has proven. I believe whole-heartedly that there is a God who created me, created you, and created this world for our temporary enjoyment. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. I whole-heartedly believe that life starts at conception,
Set Your Hearts on Things Above, Colossians 3
Warning: this post may get a little heavy and personal. Don't say you were never warned. When our Bible study read through the Bible last year from cover to cover, the activity interrupted my own reading through the Bible cover to cover. Except I wasn't attempting to do it in 90 days. Instead I was reading in depth and at most a chapter a day with a commentary in hand—which I started in the summer of 2008 and am still going right along. But the 90 Day read couldn't have come at a better time in my life. My walk with God had grown stagnant. I was just in a funk the year before—the many woes that come with this world were just getting to me. There were just a lot of tragedies and sadness in the lives of my friends and family and I was allowing it to get me down. My daily reading of even a chapter a day of the Bible dwindled down to not reading at all. So getting back into reading every single day, about 12 pages every day, really got me back into the habit of digging into the scriptures. In April of last year, when the challenge
Another Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ
As the craziness of last year started to wind down, new pregnancies were announced, two amazing friends are now engaged and Andy set the competition schedule for the year. I don't think life is ever going to slow down but to cherish all these moments, I want to keep posting about them here just for my own personal enjoyment and reflection on this amazing life God has given me and all the people who I get to share it with. On to Another Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ
My Favorite Place in Disneyland: The Courtyard of Angels
It's been over a month since I have experienced the Happiest Place on Earth and I find myself reminiscing over past trips
Two Oh Twelve
Last year I summed up "Two Oh Eleven" as a year that had minimal changes in our family of 2 but many changes for others and I am thinking the same for 2012. January We started the year off in Colorado, snow boarding and site seeing. See Ice Castles post. While we were gone, our Bible study started to read through the Bible from cover to cover. In 90 days. It was an incredible experience. Read my recap. February Photographed my first engagement session, and I love love love how they all came out! March Rooftop celebrated their first 1st place award—in ribs! The second competition in a year full of Babies, Brides, and Barbeque! Then a few weeks later we launched the BBQ sauce full throttle in Las Vegas with a three day convention sales booth. April Hello Owen, nice to meet you! Who knew how chunky this little guy could become and steal our hearts with his gummy smile. May Hello Grayson! A baby that we all waited so long for, praying alongside his mama, grateful for him every single day and those sweet big brown eyes! Had my first paying photography client! Thank you Kirsten! June Discovered a new love for country line dancing while celebrating the best friend's 26th birthday. Rediscovered

A Moment: “I’m Getting Married Today”
Just 11 days ago, one of my best friends growing up got married. She is my oldest and closest friend yet to get married and I really couldn't be more excited. This past year with her has been so much fun and such an encouragement to our friendship. Our moms are best friends and they couldn't remind us enough about the value of friendship. Brittany met Eric just a mere month after Andy and I got married, so for the past 5 years I have been waiting for her to join me in wedded bliss! So that morning on November 3rd, Brittany turned to me and quietly, but excitedly, says "I'm getting married today." At her saying that, a billion memories and emotions hit me all at once leaving my breathlessly happy for my friend to marry her prince. I couldn't have been happier to join Brittany as she walked from our hotel room—where she prepared for the greatest day of her life—to get in the limo that was whisking us away to the wedding ceremony, where she would be becoming one with her love. I couldn't be happier to stand up with Brittany as she declared her unconditional love for Eric. And I couldn't be
The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (August & September)
This is the last post before the October and November weddings, eeeek!!!! Babies! Jameson Jameson totally crashed Brittany's first bridal shower but it's okay, we got to have a little photo shoot with him on the grass. Oh and then he came to our annual hotluck (his mama Courtney was pregnant with him at last years!). And I got to feed him his dinner and oh my was that so fun! He just loves to eat, it was cracking me up! Plus my grandpa asked to hold him and Jmo was so entranced by his glasses, so so cute! He really just keeps getting cuter and cuter and just has the best personality! Owen!! Oh this baby
