Photo A Day, April—Week 4
A slow paced week left plenty of crazy for the weekend at Stagecoach! Rooftop BBQ sold 1,500 tastings to the massive crowds and our two teams placed third and seventh in the competition! After all the work was done, each night we got to see the headlining concerts with perfomances by Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow and Brad Paisley. I was most looking forward to seeing Steve Martin on Saturday but of course his performance was slated during the BBQ awards so from a far I watched one song performance and went my way. But for all I knew, I was so far away it could have been any sharply dressed white haired banjo player. So, how was your weekend? I seriously can't believe a quarter of the year has already come and gone
Stagecoach 2012 Is Coming!
With weeks of planning, Rooftop BBQ is heading to Stagecoach Thursday morning to compete plus vend to the public for the three days of the shows. I don't know about you but I am most excited to see Steve Martin perform. I may be the only one who is more excited for a band that isn't even headlining. So who else is going?? I was looking up photos for the Rooftop blog yesterday so I thought I'd share some from the event last year too! Like when we met some of the members of the Rascall Flatts band! Or like when Lauren and I finally figured out we could save seats before the public and we were on the jumbo screen! I am especially excited for next week when my hubby can finally relax after a very long month of work and BBQ! But seriously, who's going?? Let's meet up! And if you are going to be there, make sure you come by our BBQ booth: Rooftop BBQ!
Photo A Day, April—Week 3
This week also started out with a BBQ competition
Photo A Day, April—Week 2
I seriously need to get out the house! 6 of the 8 photos this week are taken from within the confines of my home
Photo A Day, April—Week 1
Here's to the third month of Photo A Day. I am still really liking the challenge of taking a photo each day—for the most part. Some are really frustrating if I have nothing to shoot, like last week at the BBQ competition and the prompt was toy. Uhhhh whaaat? This week I was at home mostly, but I still managed to get the photos done from the excitement of sorting the mail to my hubby who makes me happy. Anyway, it's been an uneventful week, that's for sure! And with that thrilling intro
A Moment: Trio Then and Now
I was always the one with a camera in hand throughout middle school and high school. Because of that, I have folders upon folders of horrid photos of my friends growing up in the Elsinore quad. A couple weeks ago we celebrated my friend Brittany's 26th birthday. It got me thinking that we were there with her to celebrate her 16th birthday, 10 years ago! Whoa. So I just had to dig through old scans of our high school days. The above photo was from Freshman year, the infamous "I just love big bows" day. And this next photo is us on her sixteenth birthday
The Year of Babies, Brides, and BBQ (March)
I totally planned to only post this every two months but March was just overflowing with babies, brides, and BBQ! Between baby showers, bridal birthdays, engagement parties, plus barbeque competitions and the launch of two more barbeque products
Photo A Day, March—Week 4
For the first time ever I did not complete all the photos for Photo A Day! The last two were "toy" and "somewhere I relax" and well, neither of those resonated with long days at the BBQ competition in Vegas. I am such the rebel! Anyway, here are some of the other photos from the week
Photo A Day, March—Week 3
I am totally slacking on taking these photos on the correct days! But looking back on the week, I had such a wonderful weekend last week! Spent all of Saturday with my hubby in our favorite city in California, San Diego! Plus it was raining, which is not a bad thing! Did you see how beautiful the days were that followed? Rain washes away the nasty smog and the mountains were so beautiful
A Moment: Girlfriends
Thank you so much Ebony for taking the above photo of us girls at Jess' baby shower last weekend! I asked Jess to send it to me and when she did I just couldn't stop looking at it and thinking about this moment in our lives. These are the moments that make life so complete. While surrounded by friends and celebrating these new babies about to be born, I just can't help but feel like I am about to burst with excitement! I just look at this picture and think that this is a moment frozen in time, a moment before Jess becomes a mom and the new life of motherhood truly begins. A moment before Eli becomes a big brother and Jamie is a mother of two. ((Not sure if I have said this enough, I just can't wait to meet baby Owen and baby Grayson!)) Plus, this is a moment before Lauren becomes a Mrs. and Caitlin becomes a college graduate! This is the type of photo that we'll look back on when we're older and say "Remember when
