April 2014

Last year, my shower planning partner in crime Jess had me create a nautical themed baby shower invite for a shower she was planning. Shortly there after I listed the invite in my shop and it has come to be one of my more popular invites! And I love the various color schemes that my clients have brought me

1. Grand Budapest Hotel Graphics I really don't know much about this movie but without even seeing the film, I'm already loving the graphic design! Since the entire world is fictional, a design team came in to design EVERYTHING. The film's lead graphic designer, Annie Atkins, said: This film was particularly fun, I think, from a graphics point of view, because we were creating this entirely fictional country that Wes had written - the State of Zubrowka. It meant that every little detail had to be made from scratch - flags, banknotes, postage stamps, everything. Now that sounds like fun! See so much more here on Graphic Exchange. 2. Brittney Lee's Wedding Invitations After finally seeing Frozen, my love of Brittney Lee (previously posted about here), the movie's visual development artist, has exploded! Not sure why I wasn't before, but I am now following her blog and have found her wedding invitations. How unique are these? Seriously loving the color combination and the whole pop-up package! 3. Disney's March Magic Teams I love when my passions overlap

Do you have a place to go for this weekend's Easter celebration? Join us in Canyon Hills as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. Good Friday service at 7 on April 18th. Easter services at 9 and 11 on the morning of April 20th. With child care provided at both Sunday services! Please use the below graphic to share about our services on Facebook too! And here are a few more images of the newspaper I helped design for our local newspaper. Hope to see you there!

1. A Map of the World Book I'm kind of obsessed with maps, especially maps as art. I've even posted a whole blog on the maps and globes we have around our house (I think our collection has doubled since that post too!). Anyway, I am loving this book of maps that has been illustrated by a variety of designers. While Google Maps and GPS systems have become our tools of choice for navigation, contemporary maps have evolved into platforms for cutting-edge illustration, experimental data visualization, and personal visual storytelling. See more images and purchase the book here. 2. Newsprint Vendors Thoroughly enjoyed this post on Nubby Twiglet
