Year in Review

Many of the projects shown here, I truly felt like I was working on just yesterday! This whole year just flew by! May Kicking off this post will be the launch of these bridesmaid tags! Funnily enough, I've had this listing in my shop for years but once I revised the verbiage to gear more towards bridesmaid gift tags, they quickly took off faster than ever! Since then, I've created over 1,000 name tags for such a range of bridal party members even aunts, ushers, and officiants! Shop name tags. Bridesmaid cards More than ever, my printed bridesmaid cards have become one of my best sellers! Shop bridesmaid proposal cards. But even more so, the card sets with personalized envelopes! There's no better way to start off a new year than by looking at the best parts of the year before! I love taking the time to create these blog posts, taking the time to review each and every project from the start of the year brought back so many memories! Granted, so much more work was created but not necessarily photographed! The year started slow as it usually does but just when wedding season was picking back up, the pandemic hit and my shop was at a standstill. Thankfully, Mother's Day prep gave me some fun projects to work on

Although these review blog posts take more time than I ever think they should, they are always so rewarding to see finished! The months of July, August and September were full of wedding work sprinkled with some other fun painting projects and even a tattoo design! Hope you enjoy this look back to last summer with me! July July celebrates the anniversary of the opening of Disneyland! Since it's my favorite place in the whole world and they just revamped the beloved castle, I wanted to spend some time creating a new castle sketch and painting. I'm totally in love with the results and have this little passion project of mine hanging proudly in my office! The month also included this commission of a painted quote: You are a match for your mountain. Another favorite of mine—and you can get this as a free phone lockscreen on my Instagram by viewing the Story Highlights: instagram.com/samallencreates! After a short vacation to Tennessee, I returned to a full plate of preparing for a flatlay workshop in Pennsylvania! They were in need of over 10 unique suites for their participants to practice styling and photographing. I had fun going over the past few year's worth of design

The month of April focused almost fully on Mother's Day preparations! Which I love because as a mama myself, I just love to celebrate mom's of all kinds! The latter half of this quarter then went back to focusing on the summer wedding season! April There's a lot to cover this month, so let's get started! Mother's Day gifts For this year's Mother's Day promotions, I created this card as a freebie for orders of watercolor portraits and papercut silhouettes! It was such a hit! One of my most popular products for Mother's Day is always my papercut silhouettes. I love drawing out these sweet profiles, their noses and eyelashes or maybe even their fur! This year, I included a Buy 1, Get 1 Free promotion. It was such a great way to buy a set for grandma but then get to keep one for mama too! My watercolor portraits didn't launch until summer last year so this was their first Mother's Day season! Each of these were gifts from the mamas to the grandmas

I really love the end of the year! October and November are such crazy busy months but I just love my job so much! And then by the second week of December, everything just slows down and I can enjoy that special time of the year with my family! This year was just the best yet, hope you enjoy this glimpse into all the fun projects that crossed my desk this fall and holiday season! View Part 1 of my 2018 Review here.Part 2, April–June 2018 Reviewand Part 3, July–September 2018 Review October The month started with an order of handpainted wedding placecards and table numbers. I adore these photos supplied by Kaitlyn's wedding photographer, Lyndsie Smith. Dusty blue envelopes for the win! This shade of blue has just been so popular. I was pretty excited when the inquiry came in! Plus, I LOVE addressing envelopes! When Kayla Denae told me she was going to do a giveaway for a styled engagement session, I jumped on board to create a special calligraphy piece for the couple. But then when she shared her ideas for the shoot, I couldn't decide which quote to go with so I just made them both! Please go take a look
