This was the week of birthday celebrations, between my husband and me it felt like each day was a mini celebration. And over the weekend we celebrated all things Amie at her bachelorette party.
Of course, the whole week wasn’t a nonstop party… we got to visit with little Hudson as he was in the hospital for Kawasaki, please keep him in prayer for that… he is home now after receiving treatment, but lift the whole family up in prayer whenever think of them. His photo is “M is for… Motorcycle!” because that’s the face we got after he saw his motorcycle ramp present from Nana. He’s just too precious.
A pretty slow week left me feeling pretty lethargic, like I just hit a wall and my body was dying for a break. So lots of reading occurred… culminating in an exciting weekend ending with taking my best friend’s engagement photos last night! In the same place where Matt proposed, we walked throughout the random alleys of Orange Circle. And then I was given “the list” to end all lists of wedding tasks. Such a good time… I’m feeling rejuvinated today and excited to get things done this week! The wedding is less than 5 weeks away… it’s close enough now that “the speech” is already making my tummy ache, but until then, there’s plenty else to focus on. 🙂

This past week was a rollercoaster of emotions… with many highs and deep lows. The low of the week was the passing of my wonderful grandfather who went home to be with Jesus this week. And while we mourn for that loss in our lives… we do realize that life does go on. I saw life in the birth of one of my closest friend’s new baby girl and in the marriage of our good friends this weekend. So with those lows, come the highs—and we just keep hanging on.

This was a pretty nice week! Highlights range from attending THE BEST bachelorette party for Miss Caitlin to having a couple afternoons with my favorite little neighbors to celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary yesterday.
Of course when I say celebrating, I mean that my husband attended to my every need while I laid on the couch with a headache.
And of course, I have to mention, that this little one year old shown below now knows who his Sam is… and when asked “Where’s Sam?” he lights up and points to me. Melts. My. Heart. 🙂

What a whirlwind of a week! We got back from a Nevada BBQ competition late Monday and then hubby left again Wednesday for Colorado—”alone” was a perfect word for that day! And being on my own was a perfect opportunity for Baby Amelia and Rachel to come over and hang out with me! Pretty good week in my book! 🙂 I mean, besides my husband being gone for half out it! ha!
We literally just got back from our annual Labor Day weekend away, competing BBQ in Mesquite, Nevada. Let’s just say the boys did AMAZING. Best results E-V-E-R! So proud of them… earlier this week though, my week felt very baby crazy… from taking Miss Amelia’s 3 month photos, to our cousin’s family being in town for the week, and of course a quick visit with my favorite neighbors! Oh, and a bridal shower. And you know, a full time job! Yikes! But now I can check posting this off my list and go and rest up from vacation (irony?) with the husband. 🙂

You know when a big event goes from just the spark of an idea, through the planning stages and then finally comes to fruition… and then its over, just as fast. Well that’s how I feel with Amie’s shower, it came and went so fast my head is still spinning. But it was such a wonderful week with my best girlfriends staying with me… running wedding errands and just catching up on life. I am really looking forward to sharing more from Amie’s shower… like really really excited to show you all actually. So be looking for that… but until then, I hope to show even more photos from our northeast trip as well! So many fun times!!
Have a wonderful weekend y’all! (I have to say “y’all” as I am currently watching Friday Night Lights on Netflix.) 🙂
