1. These Are Things

Well if you have been following this blog—for even one month—you know that I love the websites that just scroll and scroll and scroll, and the illustrations move at different speeds as you go. Apparently, thanks to the These Are Things blog, I have learned that the technique is called parallax. And the brand spanking new These Are Things site utilizes parallax to show the variety of environments that the studio duo works in, from selling their illustrated maps to designing for magazines. Not only is the development of this site just amazing, the illustration work is so simple and beautifully detailed all at the same time. You really get a feel for who the team behind These Are Things are and what inspires them. Another fun detail is watching how their cats change in each scene as well. One other reason this site is so top notch is the process it took them to bring it to this quality, what a great read! Really amazing work Jen & Omar, and just since I started following your blog a week ago, I have learned so much! Thanks for the tip, designworklife!

2. Lindsay + Steve’s Hand Lettered Wedding Invitations

Ever since reading this tutorial on faux calligraphy, I have been OBSESSED with writing on everything I can! Which makes me look at the talents of those “letter-ers” and sigh. So an entire wedding invitation suite, hand lettered by Molly Jacques is just a feast for the eyes! I have only been perfecting my script but all the variety of typefaces Molly uses just sets the bar higher. Looooove it! Found via Oh So Beautiful Paper.

3. The Dirty Apron Delicatessen – Glasfurd & Walker

That is one fine looking address. 🙂 Designed by Glasfurd & Walker, found via the Graphic Exchange.

4. RSA Social Mail Stamps

This project is the result of the challenge “to create a set of stamps that would encourage people to write traditional letters and embrace the art of traditional letter-writing.” Alex Butenko wanted to focus on hand lettering as “we cannot see a person’s handwriting in email, text or Facebook message.” Inspiring… and I just love the words she chose to feature too! Found via Good Design Makes Me Happy.

5. Fake iPhone 5 Promo Video

My very funny husband posted this to my Facebook yesterday. Or should I say, my husband who thinks he is so very funny. Either way you want to word it, this sadly is so very meant for me and my many iPhone photos of food and thousands of Instagrammed moments.

I believe in magic. I believe in the power of true love. I believe in fairy tales and happy endings. And I live to create stationery and art for the young at heart to allow my fellow dreamers to treasure all of life’s most wondrous moments!
