1. XXII Olympic Winter Games

The Olympic Games design work is always so original. I love how it plays up a modern twist on that particular country’s art history. Recently, the design and concepts, designed by BOSCO Sports, for the 2014 Olympics in Russia were revealed. The patterned design plays off the patchwork quilts, “a combination of 16 designs representing the most famous traditional Russian arts and crafts, ranging from Gzhel to Khokhloma.” How cool, right? 2. Will Rogers World Airport

I have just recently “met” Mauricio Cremer via Twitter and Dribbble (I drafted him!). The following was found by a shot Cremer posted on Dribbble. It is one of five graphics Cremer created (at Funnel Design) for the Will Rogers World Airport. I love how the bold colors overlay the vintage sepia photographs.

3. Typographic Verses: Psalm 96:11

Here is another piece that I first found via a shot on Dribbble. Jonathan Ogden is taking Bible verses and creating visual graphics for each of them, six so far. Each one stands apart from the other with its own totally different look and feel. This is the latest one, but also my favorite. He hopes to one day make prints of them, find the rest here.

4. Oak Park Stage

While going through design blogs, I view each on its own merit of design, but sometimes I see a piece, and think, wow this really inspires me on a project I am working on. For a future bride to be, I have been saving all oak inspired paper goods so seeing this project in Tanner Glaves portfolio sparked my interest immensely! But the actual tree graphic didn’t do it, it was the paper it’s printed on with its earthy and natural appeal. I sure hope to use something like that! 5. Jared Chapman Illustrations

As someone who does have much skill in the drawing department, I truly admire illustrators, in all their forms. Combine a great illustration with a great color scheme and I am hooked! Thanks to Eight Hour Day, I found Jared Chapman and all his illustrated goodies! There were several that caught my eye but as an admirer of Where the Wild Things Are, this one in particular found its way to the top of the list! This piece was created as a contribution to Terrible Yellow Eyes, a site all about fan art for the book/film Where the Wild Things Are.
