Where do you stand on “inspirational quotes,” Keep Calm and Carry On, and the like? I find that when I’m in the right frame of mind, even a silly ad slogan can give me a lift. I always get so much joy when I'm commissioned to letter an old family quote, to know that these tried and true words that have so much meaning to the family will find new life as wall art to inspire the family daily. You & Me. Mickey & Minnie. Sun & Rain. You can't have one without needing the other... As I thought about ways to expand my Floral Letters line, I knew I wanted to add an ampersand, the symbol for the word "and." I've been obsessed with it for years, I love how in it's simplicity, it represents the joining of two separate things. Where are all my fellow introverts?! (No offense to you extroverts—you’re the yin to my yang!) At times being an introvert works out perfectly. For example, when I’m spending hours alone painting, but it can be less than ideal when say, people want me to paint on Instagram Live or even participate in a Zoom call. But I’m learning some tricks! Whenever my work calls me to be a little bit of something I’m not, I try to focus on just that ONE friend that I know is listening and I pretend that I'm just chatting with her. And what about you?
