1. Wild Olive

Love these business cards designed by Stitch. They have such a tactile element to them when the tape is applied. Plus it gives each card a bit of a variety while adding a cared for, handmade quality—it would take an intense amount of time to apply the tape! And I love how they incorporated the tape throughout all of the identity collateral, see more via Lovely Stationery.

2. Iconatomy

Do you see Natalie Portman or Audrey Hepburn in this photo? This is one in a series created by George Chamoun that follows the theme of “icons.” He describes it as:

I chose to work with movie icons from two different eras. This project has been a lot about ideals, patterns and anatomy. I named the project Iconatomy from the words “icon” and “anatomy.”

3. Selfless Tee by Matt Stevens

I always struggle with t-shirt designs and they tend to err on the minimal side as I do not know what t-shirt printers are capable of! So I love this design by Matt Stevens! It has so many details and design elements while still maintaining a clean yet grungy look. View a detailed close up of the shirt here. 4. Before I Die

I couldn’t describe this better than the artist herself, Candy Chang:

Before I Die transforms a neglected space into a constructive one where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us. It’s a question that changed me over the last year after I lost someone I loved very much. I also believe the design of our public spaces can better reflect what’s important to us as residents and as human beings.

There’s many ways to support this installation or make one in your own neighborhood. Plus, I love that one of the first wishes was to go to Israel, because that would definitely be on my list as well! Found via designworklife.

5. Students Redesign Kohls

I know I’ve mentioned time and time again, I love student projects! This project done hypothetically for Kohls reminds me of a project down similarly for the Kirkland/Costco brand that I featured in this Evernotes Every post. There are multiple designs for several departments in Kohls but this one in particular is described as:

Mod Décor is Kohl’s home decor line. The concept was to create a contemporary mood that would capture the essence of the product, not just by seeing it on a white background, but by juxtaposing it within its own environment. The effect creates an intriguing experience for the viewer on a flat surface.

I love the overall look of it, but I’m not sure how effective the typography layout will be as changing its location for each package may be confusing to the consumer. Found via the dieline.
