A month ago, my little shop officially had its one year birthday! And while I was in the midst of pressing deadlines, I barely was able to acknowledge this little monument. So here I am, a whole month late, saying Happy Birthday, my little shop. While I may not have got out the cake and candles, my shop seemed to put on its big girl pants and really grow in February. On January 30th, I texted my mama that I had made my 100th sale. On March 1, I made my 150th. So even though I wasn't celebrating its birthday, my shop sure was celebrating—and keeping me mighty busy at that! I still can't believe how this year has gone. I still can't believe this road we are on now. What started as a shop for my random shower invitations has now morphed into a custom rubber stamp shop that also specializes in custom lettering for brides and businesses. Whether this comes and goes as a temporary season, or this could turn into something full time in a few years—I'm excitedly standing by, and holding on for dear life! Over the years as I've posted a few dozen invitation designs, and all the while quite a few people encouraged me to open an Etsy shop. And I finally did! Back in February, on a night my husband was out of town, I sat down and stocked a few invites and opened a shop. Just printables, nothing printed. Calling the shop "Your New Friend Sam"—a name I had been wanting to establish here on my blog but never felt enough confidence to do. Then while working with my best friend on her wedding stationery, starting with her save the dates, I created a return address stamp with a mix of handwritten and digital type. And from there, my little shop grew from invites only, to also include rubber stamps. And that's when things got interesting. As of August, I still hadn't sold over 20 orders through my shop, but in this past month my sales have almost doubled! And that doesn't even include friends and family that have been keeping things consistent along the way. As a perfectionist, I kept delaying an official post on my shop until I felt like I truly had it figured it out
