Today's my parent's 28th wedding anniversary. That's 7 times longer than Andy and I have been married. In just these past two years alone, my parents love for one another has manifested itself in so many ways. With all my dad's "episodes," you can see that they have a new-found appreciation for their relationship. There's a dependence upon one another that, from what I've learned so far, seems necessary in a marriage. They understand they can't get through life without the other. You can see this in the way they look at each other and in the way they touch one another. My mom has taught me so much on how to be a godly wife. She has taught this to me not only in how she cares for my dad, but in how she cares for my sister and me. She gives without ceasing and inspires me to do the same. She is the most unselfish person I have ever met. With each passing day and with each passing doctor's visit this past year my mom just said "keep praying." She was determined. My dad has taught me about unconditional love and forgiveness. While we have not always had the best relationship, you

Most anyone who has met my hubby, Andy, will describe him as a quiet individual who only speaks up when he has something intelligent or funny to say (and that's not bad!). But if you have met Andy, and known Andy, only in this past year, you may describe him differently. My husband has finally found his passion. A few people remarked to me this past weekend how much Andy speaks out at his BBQ competitions and how different he is and I've been pondering this over these past few days. No matter how much time and money this BBQ thing has taken up, it is worth it. It's worth the late night discussions on flavor profiles and the ever growing stack of Sam's Club and Restaurant Depot receipts. It's truly worth it because my husband has come alive. It overwhelms my heart to know how happy he is and to watch him proudly serve his BBQ goodness to the public . I'm overwhelmed at the friends he's gathered through this, the new friends, and the old. I'm overjoyed that Kellen, his best friend since first grade, shares this passion and that they get to spend so much more time

For the last month or two I have been saving each Christmas design goodie I find for later inspiration for our Christmas card. I had planned to spend a few nights this past week working on and get it printed at Staples on Thursday (could I procrastinate any longer?). But then Andy and I decided to get them printed through his work so I had 2 hours to get our card done, leaving a lot of design elements out that I wanted but my favorite part is the golden yellow background with the flour delis. And what would a Christmas card be without a photo? Ours was taken by Lindsey Daigle at Red Leaf Photography, thanks Linds! We only ordered a limited amount so here's a digital copy for everyone! Merry Christmas!!

I, Sam, in faith, honesty and love, take you, Andy, to be my wedded husband, to share with you God's plan for our lives together united in Christ. And with God's help, to strengthen and encourage you to be a strong spiritual leader for us in our life, for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, in joys and in sorrows, until death do we part. I give you all that I have: myself and my love. In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. With this ring I seal my vow of love to you, Andy, and pray I may fulfill God's place in our home, in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Happy third anniversary, Andy

Does your dad have that very special chair that everyone knows is HIS chair and if he walks into the room that chair must be vacated for his sitting pleasure? My dad for sure did. That chair has seen many football games and parties, many naps and many lap shares with his little girls to watch a Disney movie. Andy and I have been looking for "his chair" for several years now and a few weeks ago he finally found his "perfect" chair. After a few weeks of discussing whether or not to get it, I decided to get it for our anniversary for him, plus the third anniversary's traditional gift is leather, could that BE any more perfect? Annnnd plus my parents pitched in as an early birthday present! They even came down to Sam's Club just to get a preview of it, so my two favorite guys got to make sure the chair worked
