Friday Footnotes
1. Kickstarter Campaign: Tatay’s Gift
I’ve been meaning to post about Brad and Krystal Woodard’s latest adventure… a children’s book, written and illustrated by the Woodard’s…
In Tatay’s Gift we get to join a young Filipino boy as he goes out to work each day with his Tatay (Tatay is the Tagalog word for dad).
Our mission is to teach the important message of giving and serving each other… Our hope is to at least teach our kids to feel like they have an obligation to help others and care about other’s situations and not just be passive about the things they hear about on the news. We want to teach about unity and loves and the importance of helping out, coming together, and supporting each other. The next generation is going to change this world, and we believe that a wonderful way to reach them is through reading and illustration. Just like Tatay teaches “a life of giving is the best life indeed.”
This book is beautifully illustrated, but with each purchase you are also teaching the world about giving back.
With only a $25 payment, you can not only get the book but also a digital copy! And for $10 more you get a second copy of the book… I think that’s what I will be getting. Would make a perfect gift for one of my many “nephews.”
Check out their blog post about the book here, and their Kickstarter campaign here.
2. Feltron Report
For years now, Nicholas Felton has published a in depth infographic of his life yearly. Ranging from how many cups of coffee he has consumed to how many and which documentaries he watched. You can see the 2012 report here.
But now Feltron has released an app that can help you keep track of the random activities in your day. The app will prompt you throughout the day and will only require seconds to place your response to questions like “are you working today?” and the app will also monitor the temperature of the day, weather, etc. for you. Pretty neat! Get it on iTunes here.

3. J&B Limited Tattooed Edition
25 limited edition bottles of scotch blend whisky were literally tattooed! Each and every bottle is totally unique… How cool is that?! Found via The Dieline.
4. Plants for Indoor Use
This is the time of year that I normally start buying plants for our backyard and in a very small way, I’m conquering keeping outdoor plants alive… but when it comes to these household plants, I just can’t seem to get them green. I was overjoyed to see this post on A Beautiful Mess which recommended this great site. Thank you Amber for such a great list! Check out her post as she goes into detail on the best light and temperature for each plant! Really great resource.
5. 30 Day Ab & Squat Challenge
Starting on the 1st of April (not as an April Fool’s prank) I want to attempt this 30 Day Ab & Squat challenge! Of course I pinned this (from Heather Price) just days after pinning an “Edible Cookie Dough for One” recipe. ha!
This pin was originally found via Losing Weight, from Tribe Sports.
