Your New Friend Sam, Etsy Shop: Wedding Vows Typography Art Printable
With Valentine’s Day only a month away, its time to start thinking about what you want to get your loved one!
I wanted to share with you something I’ve created—at first for myself—but am now selling in my Etsy shop! It would make a perfect gift for yourself as a keepsake or for the one you love. In particular, this is so perfect for your spouse—and I say spouse, because I sell a piece of art in my Etsy shop that is so very perfect for all the newlyweds and those closer to that golden anniversary!
But its so versatile that it can be created for anyone, customized to you!
Let’s get on with it, shall we?
I love typography and the recent trend in these past several years of stacked type. So, a few years ago, I took my wedding vows (which my husband wrote!) and turned them into a print I could frame around my house to break up the photos, and add some meaningful art.
I just loved how it came out! And since I loved mine so much I thought maybe others would like the idea too so I started gifting them… and am now selling them in my Etsy shop. I used our wedding vows but you can create with your favorite Bible verse, saying or quote from a song or movie. Anything you want!
Click on any image of the style you like to be taken to the product listing.
They make such great anniversary gifts… I created one for my friend Lauren in time for their first wedding anniversary and then the next one is the first one I created for an actual Etsy customer—just in time for their anniversary last fall.
There’s quite a variety of ways these can come out and depending on how many words you want to use, the look varies and each one really stands on its own!
If you’re looking for something more feminine looking or more handwritten, I’ve also recently added a few other options that are either all hand lettered!
Can’t decide between all digital or all handwritten? Another great option is a printable that combines digital type and the handwritten look—this one is for my friend Jess who loves the wedding vows from the recent Bones wedding.
So you have come up with your wording and the design is done… what to do with your printable PDF file?
After coming up with my own design, I then followed Promise Tangeman’s tutorial on transferring the ink to a canvas that I had decorated with scrapbook paper and paint. There’s really so many endless possibilites… You can turn it into a wall decal, modge podge it on to a letter, antique the paper, transfer it to fabric, or you can use it to start your very own gallery wall!
This contest is now closed… thanks to all who entered! The winner was chosen at random… congrats to Angela Mardock who won via her Instagram entry!
So with all that to say, I’m having a little contest and all you have to do to win a custom designed printable is…
1. Pin, to one of your Pinterest boards, the style of design you would like from any of the above images (you can pin from this post or from the Etsy shop which many find easier since it has a “pin” button)… and then…
2. Leave a comment on this post below with a snippet of your own wedding vows—or even your favorite Bible verse, saying or quote from a song or movie—along with a link to your pin.
And that’s it! Then you’ll be entered in a drawing for a free Wedding Vows Art Printable from me, Your New Friend Sam.
Fine print: The contest starts today until Saturday, January 18, 11:59 PST. Once the winner is selected, I will contact you via email with a draft of your design and you can make any changes necessary. Final PDF will be emailed once approved.

So beautiful! 🙂
We love:

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up; a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

I would love this Tolkien quote from Lord of the Rings in our wedding vows. We’re book nerds. Haha.
“The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.”
Or the short version…. 😉
