Mae & Mia

I met Amie Machelle Thompson more than 15 years ago. Where we actually met for the first time is unknown but we spent many years together in elementary school together involved in girl scouts. We shared a hatred of camping and the outdoors. We even ‘got’ poison oak at camp once and got to spend the rest of the camp in our tent. It wasn’t always good times in girl scouts though. She was the spoiled brat and I was the cry baby. Some things never change.

Middle school came and went but in our eigth grade year we took a class trip to Washington D.C. A trip I will never forget. That trip was 10 years ago. That’s the trip Amie and I claim is when we became best friends. Since April 10, 2000 we have been inseparable.

We shared many sleepovers, many tears, many drives, many trips to Disneyland, many tubs of ice cream, many many laughs, many summers, many beach days, many snow days, many boyfriends, many trips to the mall and swap meet, a few trips to D.C., and many movie nights. When Andy asked me to be his wife, Amie was the first person I called after my parents. Who better to stand by my side when I married my husband, than my Amie Belle.

And today is her birthday.

Amie, I wish you so much happiness in this 24th year. There are many exciting opportunities coming up and I will keep you in my prayers. May God continue to bless your life and guide you down His path for your life.

We have shared many joys, with some sorrows, and have become ever so strong because of it. I try not to think of you moving to San Francisco because it just breaks my heart that you won’t be here. I know we made it through college 3,000 miles away from each other but this feels so much more permanent. I know this friendship is not a work of ourselves, but of God. We can encourage each other with a love that only God has shown us. And we can put up with each others faults by a grace of God… thanks for always just smiling away at my many ‘eccentric’ qualities. I promise to never leave your side, you are my best friend and always will be. Happy birthday, Amie Belle.

I will not cease praying for you, and ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power. Colossians 1:9-11

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you… 2 Thessalonians 3:16

I believe in magic. I believe in the power of true love. I believe in fairy tales and happy endings. And I live to create stationery and art for the young at heart to allow my fellow dreamers to treasure all of life’s most wondrous moments!
