Ever since I was a child I have been a lover of the written word. I read everything from cereal boxes to the ins and outs of packaging labels.
I started reading through the Bible, cover to cover, with a commentary, during the summer of 2008. I am now barreling through the latter half of the New Testament and am excited to actually close that book—and start all over!
Another series I am currently reading is The Lord of the Rings trilogy. My husband loooooves the books and movies so I started with The Hobbit and really really enjoyed it, would highly recommend it as well!
I am going to use this page as a log of favorite books, books read, and to be read. Please leave a comment with any and all book suggestions.

We just got done reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I would highly recommend reading it. It is a super quick read and really makes you think about your relationship with God in a new way. I have already bought it for three people so they could read it. Have fun on your reading adventure!

Oh my goodness, I was just going to recommend Crazy Love, too! I’m almost finished with it and think it is great… it really wakes you up to evaluate the way you view God and live your life accordingly to such view.
If you haven’t already read it, The Shack is also a good, quick summer read. It is thought provoking and an engaging story. 🙂

I also read The Shack and enjoyed the story, but I had a hard time with the fact that God is presented as a woman. Interesting read but I think it has potential to be conflicting for people not grounded in their faith or well read in the Bible.

Yeah, I had heard both good and bad about The Shack but I would like to read it either way and make my own assessment. Thanks for the input ladies!

I recommend, Dinner with a Perfect Stranger. The five people you meet in Heaven, Water for Elephants, and any book by Jodi Picoult.

Thanks Lindsey. Never heard of Dinner with a Perfect Stranger, but I looked it up, looks interesting. I have read the 5 People You Meet in Heaven. I really liked it. I haven’t read Tuesdays with Morrie though, his other book. Do you have any Jodi Picoult books?
