Evernotes Every Friday

1. Bucu Logo by Stebbings Partners

This is just one of those logos that when you see it, you think, why didn’t I think of that. The way this illustrated mark was created, a burger turned upside down is an ice cream cone… perfect for a eatery that serves up both! Pure genius. Design by Stebbings Partners, found via designworklife.

2. Branding for the Victoria District

Another awesome logo design and branding project is for the Victoria District in London. The logo itself is clean, simple, and modern but with the addition of the design element of the diagonal line from the letter V, the branding is transformed. Not only do I love the various pieces of advertising, but I find their branding guidelines pretty interesting too. See more here. Designed by SomeOne, found via Brand New.

3. Temperamental Type

Not sure what it is about pieces that show a process and evolution over time, but they are just so darn interesting! Jonny Holmes experiments with type giving each letter a different starting form and each end up in a different form than when first starting. Not only does it show a beginning and an end, the middle segment may be my favorite. Where you can still just see a hint of its original shape.

4. Cattle Baron’s Ball

Well this is a project close to my heart… I love the intricate type by Cory Say, but not only does he have a talent in illustrated type, his printed pieces are all so beautifully done and laid out! Found via designworklife.

5. April Elcich

I am so behind in reading my blogs because of our trip, this is actually from Pinterest! But thank you Pinterest, because I just love what I found after clicking through this design. I am a new fan of Aprile Elcich’s work! I love her feminine look in her collages but not only does she rock those, her editiorial work is just as amazing. Like I said, I am a new fan and am now following her on Pinterest and Dribbble. Look forward to seeing more from Miss April here!

I believe in magic. I believe in the power of true love. I believe in fairy tales and happy endings. And I live to create stationery and art for the young at heart to allow my fellow dreamers to treasure all of life’s most wondrous moments!
