1. Leen Sadder‘s Spoonful of Sugar

I love Disney and I love design so this Mary Poppins’ inspired design is just perfect. Leen Sadder is a design student at the School of Visual Arts and as a part of Stefan Sagmeister’s class, “Can design touch someone’s heart?” she describes her project in her own words, “To touch the hearts of umbrella-less New Yorkers on a rainy day, I dressed up as Mary Poppins and escorted people across the street carrying a hand-lettered umbrella and a bag of chocolate-dipped spoons.” The writing is inspired by the song lyrics from “A Spoonful of Sugar.” So great!! 2. Andy Luce + Liz’s Wedding Invites

I just love an untraditional wedding invite and graphic designers who are getting married just bring out the best in wedding stationery. Andy Luce created his own wedding collateral and I love the boldness of the colors and the typography. Here’s just a glimpse at the ENVELOPE! The envelope! Every piece is so detailed down to the envelopes… I would love to get a piece of snail mail that looks like this! Found on head vs. heart.

3. Kevin Richardson’s Charts and Textures

I’ve been working on a magalog at work, incorporating lots of charts and graphs so infographics have held a lot of my attention lately. And they are hard to do! This shot is just a glimpse into a annual report Kevin Richardson is working on. His work is always amazing but I love the colors and textures in this one and I am looking forward to seeing the project in full. Found on Dribbble. See my work on Dribbble here.

4. Kelli Anderson’s Collaborative Fun Web Design Project

Not too long ago I found Kelli Anderson’s work and fell in love. Her use of texture, color, and typography is seamless and there’s usually a touch of whimsy. Her latest project for Collaborative Fund is beautiful as usual. You can view the full site here, and her case study on it here, but this image is just a closeup of the navigation of the site. As you scroll down through the page, the “bird’s eye view” of the road shows you what page you are on and what page is coming up.

5. Tyler Thompson’s “Handmade” Dribbble Shot

And lastly, another Dribbble shot but by Tyler Thompson. This project is finalized and is still in the works (the point of Dribbble is to show your design work in progress). I love the current trend in making extreme horizontal (or vertical) labels on packaging or envelopes. This was created by a combination of scanning and digital composing. And the detail is beautiful. Can’t wait to see it go live and see it in context!
