Evernotes Every Friday

I hope everyone had a good week! Mine was cut short a day… I had my first major headache in five weeks, I guess that’s progress. We’ve been pretty busy at work, producing one project so there hasn’t been much inspiration research. However, these are my top 5 projects found this week!

1. KC-Design Promotional Portfolio

I have been researching like crazy different ways to promote Central Creative and I just found this little goody by another design company, KC-Design. It’s a very interactive way to show a prospective client the work they can produce while also showing work that they have produced. Their portfolio is an art piece in itself. I first found this on For Print Only.

2. Matt Roeser’s Design for A Brief History of Time

Graphic designer’s personal projects always have such a flair to them. Their true personality and design sense shines through because it is all them and not a client dictated project. I started following Ty Mattson for this very reason (see blog about him here). Courtney at Design Work Life just reviewed Matt Roeser’s book covers here that he designs after he finishes reading them. There’s a ton of them, but this is my favorite. I love the blue and black contrast with the spot of blue at the bottom. It’s serene.

3. Nathan Godding’s Modern Circus Identity

I love looking at student projects, they dare to dream and have no realistic budget restrictions! Godding’s design was created with a modern circus in mind with a contemporary audience. I love the bold colors in contrast with the heavy circular mark. Please view the rest of this project, every piece is awesome, but this best showed the color and mark together. I first found this on Design Work Life.

4. CUTandPASTE’s Shabby Chic Save the Dates

Save the Dates are always such a playful way to announce your engagement. This one has such wonderful textile elements and details, you must go see the rest of the design. It’s elegant and rustic, traditional and untraditional all in one. I first found this on Oh So Beautiful Paper.

5. Freshthrills Motorman Lager Packaging

In school, one of our classes was dedicated to all things packaging design. I never looked at the way products look on the shelves, or at home, the same since. Here’s another cool self-promotion project but by the design team Freshthrills. This bottle of lager was sent out to their clients for Christmas this past year. I love the look and feel and the wood box it comes in. Even the gift tag is designed full of teams including the paper it was printed on. Please click through to their site to see even more photos.
